"We Speak Through The Sound of Junks", 2006, video stills, 7:25”

The video demonstrates several workers who are dealing with junks-scraps in a small workshop named “Sahinler Metal” in Ankara. A container in this video avarages 60 kg large block from each material a day. The blocks later on are transported to the main factory in İstanbul from Ankara in order to be used in recycling. The video is accompanied by a special noise effects provided by the noise-sound available there by manupulation. The workers Recep, Turan and Duran have been working for ten years in this small workshop and speaking through the sound of junks. What was astonishing was that the worker were as if they were struggling with the junks as some protagonists like Cezar, Warhol did. In this sense, it did not seemed strange to perceive the enviroment and the workers like an artist’s studio.

"Biz Hurda Sesleriyle Konuşuruz" adlı video Ankara'daki Şahinler Metal' adlı küçük bir atölyede gerçekleştirildi. Video, günde ortalama 60 kg hurda alabilen bir konteyneri ve burada çalışanları temel alıyor. Konteynere yerleştirilen hurdalar daha sonra geri-dönüşüm sürecinde kullanılmak üzere Ankara'dan İstanbul'a naklediliyor. Atölye son derece gürültülü ve bu gürültülerden elde edilmiş özel ses efektleri videoya eşlik etmekte. Recep, Turan ve Duran 10 yıldır bu küçük atölyede hurda sesleriyle konuşuyor, hurda sesleriyle çalışıyorlar. İlginç olan nokta, hurdalarla cebelleşen bu işçilerin, Cezar, Warhol gibi öncü sanatçıların çalışma yöntemlerini çağrıştırması. Bu yüzden ortamı bir sanatçı atölyesiyle özdeşleştirmek pek garip olmasa gerek. (F.Ö)
