Sic is a half-yearly photo-copied zine publication edited by Vaari Claffey and Bea McMahon. Artworks and writing  are reproduced ‘as-is’, in their uncorrected form. Sic is a slowly developing episodic non-narrative, packed with red-herrings, Macguffins and shark-jumping.

At around half past eight we present
An Activity Play in 13th Century Speak with Bea McMahon and others...

Pawel Kruk will be Altering the World (from afar)

& some of Dina from Egypt[1] will lip synch their latest track(s).

There will be a new volcano salad that needs improving. And some beer. And some wine.

And then a housewarming party and maybe some more band and some dancing.
Please come!!

Love
Bea agus Vaari (agus Daniel)

SIC INTERTRASHIONAL was made with the support of The Lab, Dublin City Council, Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst and Mondriaan Fonds.

SIC issue #2 The Characters are Deniz Buga, Vaari Claffey, Pawel Kruk, Quynh Dong, Anna Barham, Bedwyr Williams, Francis McKee, Bea McMahon, Aleana Egan, Tilo Schulz, Brian Griffiths, Chris Fite-Wassilak, Jacob Wren, Dina Danish, Roderick Hietbrink, Ferhat  Özgür, Isla Leaver-Yap and Seamus Nolan.

The first issue of SIC, SEX, was the moment at which conception took place.
For this second issue we have enlisted the help of a number of artists, writers and curators to populate the zine with a cast of characters who will carry our story forward.   These characters may appear just for this issue or they may involve themselves in future production. The frequency of their appearance is unpredictable and will depend on variously urgent forces from both inside and outside. The characters will fulfil diverse functions; organisational (the non-contributing editor), narrative (the wrestler), practical (Patricia), critical (faints-at-art) and structural (balconies). We anticipate that they will be joined by others as things develop.

For now they are simply assembling, they have neither issued instructions nor made any moves.  They don’t even know each other yet.

[1] Dina from Egypt are Deniz Buga, Dina Danish, Philipp Kremer, Bea McMahon, Dan Walwin and kinda Ran Zhang
